Lorie Hough, Chapter Leader of the Year
Lorie is a member of the ARMA SWO Board, and represented the Chapter at the Canada Region Annual Conference. She also presented in that same conference: "Developing a School Board Electronic Document Management Solution". For Chapter Leader of the Year, emphasis is given to the individual’s participation in and contribution to the chapter and region and/or ARMA International activities and for their support and promotion of objectives.
Michael Molnar, Chapter Member of the Year
Michael was recognized for his participation in ARMA SWO activities, including attending the Annual General Meeting and participating in the Planning Meeting for the upcoming year. Member of the Year recognizes the individual, a non-Board member, who had the highest level of contribution to our chapter's activities and best supported and promoted ARMA International objectives.

The 2008/09 ARMA SWO Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the ARMA SWO website received an honourable mention for the 2008 Chapter website of the year award in the medium Chapter (36-80 members) category at ARMA International's awards celebration in Las Vegas on October 21, 2008.
Valdene Wager, a past member of the ARMA SWO Board of Directors and the current ARMA Canada Region Central Co-ordinator, accepted the award on behalf of the Chapter.
As stated in the awards celebration program, "Because technology and the Internet play such important roles in how chapters manage their resources and operations, the recognition for creativity and efficiency through the use of chapter websites is an important and well-deserved award. Chapter websites that excel beyond all others in the association are recognized with this award . . ."
This honourable mention continues ARMA SWO's award-winning website success – ARMA SWO won this award in 2006 and also received an honourable mention in 2007.
The 2008/09 ARMA SWO Board of Directors wishes to thank Paul Cormier (2007/08 Website Director) and Derek Barnes (ARMA SWO's Webmaster) for their successful management of the Chapter website.
The awards, open to all ARMA International Chapters, were presented at the awards banquet at the ARMA International Annual Conference held in October in San Antonio, Texas. Accepting both awards on behalf of the chapter were Valdene Wager, ARMA Central Canada Region Co-Ordinator and Paul Simpson, ARMA Southwestern Ontario Chapter Newsletter Editor. Ms. Wager presented both awards to 2005-2006 Chapter President Wendy Francis, current Chapter President Helen Kennedy and the members of ARMA Southwestern Ontario Chapter Board of Directors at the chapter meeting held in Lambeth on Wednesday, November 1, 2006.
